How it works
HNOA covers the business's liability when employees drive personal cars or rentals for company purposes. It's excess over the employee's personal policy.
- Doesn't cover damage to the employee's car
- Doesn't cover the employee's own liability beyond their limits — that's on them
- Includes rental cars (hired autos)
Who needs it
Any business where anyone ever drives for work: bank runs, client visits, deliveries, conferences.
- Home health and social services: highest exposure
- Nonprofits with volunteers driving
- Sales teams with car allowances
Delivery exclusion
Most endorsement versions exclude delivery of goods or transport of people. Restaurants, pharmacies, and health care need the stand-alone form.
